Are you traveling from outside of town and feeling daunted by not knowing what to expect? Don't worry! we're trying to make this as enjoyable and easy as possible (and yes, that applies to locals as well). Here are some things in the works to help visitors.

  • Free childcare will be available and we will post more info. on this as the festival nears

  • We are busy as bees copying pamphlets which will have fancy maps and schedules so that you know where and when everything is happening. We will have printed copies available before the festival at the Mondragon Cofeehouse, all around during the festival and (hopefully) a pdf available right here for you to add to the destruction of air-purifying trees. Yay!

  • We are also looking at Junto Library and bugging them to update and print out the “Subversives Guide to Winnipeg” zine. We will be trying to get that into your clammy hands pretty quickly.

  • Bikes! Getting around a city can be hard, buses can be pretty expensive when you're running around and santa knows we don't want our spaces and air polluted by those steel monstrosities otherwise known as cars, so the Bike Dump (a volunteer run bike co-op who are amazing and offer a free space to learn to fix and build a bike, free tools and bikes, or even cheap but lovingly put together bikes) has supplied us with bikes to offer festival-goers for free use during the festival. Yay!

  • Billeting. Need a loving place to stay? No problem! Just contact us and we will arrange somewhere where you can rest your weary head after a day of festivities.

  • Food – Food Not Bombs has generously agreed to feed all us bookworms during the Anarchist Bookfair on Saturday May 10th. The chow is free!
